Key Responsibilities:

This role entails overseeing daily sales activities, major client meetings, sales report generation, development of innovative sales strategies, and promoting the company’s products and services. The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving sales objectives through establishing a strategy within assigned accounts and markets and building long-term relationships with clients.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Identifying key organizations and researching and analyzing these organizations to understand current and future market trends.
  • Identifying and qualifying potential clients according to BV’s ideal client profile to set up client meetings.
  • Following up and closing leads in conjunction with the Executive Vice President of Sales.
  • Developing sales plans and projecting expected sales volume for assigned territories.
  • Building relationships with targeted clients through introductions, rapport-building, attending business events, and industry functions.
  • Targeting, prospecting, proposing, upselling, and closing new business.
  • Conducting sales calls to understand the account’s business strategies, organizational structure, and to position BV’s capabilities.
  • Customizing BV services for clients by aligning sales efforts with the client’s business needs.
  • Developing deep, long-term relationships within the client’s organization.
  • Responding to client Requests for Information, Quotations, and Proposals within deadlines.
  • Representing BV at local and national industry-specific conferences.
  • Cross-selling services from other business lines.
  • Keeping management informed of activities and progress within the assigned region.

Specific to Project Management Division:

  • Focusing on design-build and turnkey execution services on a national scale across various industries including retail, restaurant, grocery, banking, hospitality, airport, automotive, convenience store/petroleum, healthcare, and electric vehicle (EV) charging.
  • Traveling by plane, motor vehicle, and train (up to 50% of the workweek) to client sites across the U.S.

Qualifications:

To perform successfully in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, 5-8 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell business-to-business services.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Sufficient personal credit to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000.
  • Proficiency in operating a computer, knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.
