Job Description:
The Executive Surety Underwriter is responsible for the marketing and underwriting of the assigned Surety portfolio within the region for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. This role involves maintaining existing broker relationships, recommending new broker relationships, effectively marketing Surety’s capabilities, and underwriting profitable business in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Regional Surety Manager to execute the established strategic business plan for maintaining and expanding Allianz Trade’s Surety business in the United States.
- Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement with existing and new broker relationships in the local market.
- Document all decisions and recommendations consistently and transparently.
- Conduct account and portfolio underwriting activities in line with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements set by Allianz Trade.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Americas and internationally to fully leverage surety capabilities and the existing customer base.
- Attend industry groups and local surety events as requested by the Regional Manager.
Key Experience:
- Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.
- Strong relationships with local brokers.
- Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and risks.
- Proven track record of successful underwriting results.
Key Requirements:
- At least 5 years of industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in the U.S. in your local market.
- Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives.
- Established track record in developing business with brokers.
- A 4-year college degree with an emphasis in business, economics, or finance.
